Fiduciary Responsibility

What is a Fiduciary?  Investopedia.com defines it as …

“A fiduciary is a person or organization that owes to another the duties of good faith and trust.  The highest legal duty of one party to another, it also involves being bound ethically to act in the other’s best interest.”

If a wealth advisor believes and adheres to a principal of acting in their clients’ best interest and feels it is key to their success, then it follows that those advisors cannot plan in a vacuum; all financial assets need to be addressed.  This includes an understanding of the client’s life insurance portfolio – personal, trust owned and business.  These assets can and will have a significant impact on the clients overall financial picture and if not structured properly can create many problems for loved ones and/or business associates.
